Please note there is a 20 working* day turn around for responses to your enquiries. We do not undertake research on your behalf and may refer you to organisations who maintain lists of professional researchers.

  • Visit the reading room Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 10am-4pm and our staff will offer expert and professional advice on all aspects of your research

Access under the GIPA Act

Requests for access to information in closed records held as State archives under the Government Information (Public Access) Act should be directed to the relevant government department not State Records.

*Working days are Mondays - Fridays, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
